I was originally looking for more information on the potato famine. This book provided that and much more! I thoroughly enjoyed Mr Trench's writing style, which I am not used to reading. Very Eloquent and entertaining! (The book's reproduction took a little getting used to, but it became Very clear after a few pages.) If you are looking for historical information about Ireland combined with an interesting story, I'd strongly suggest this book! History can be tedious, this was not.
The 'reviews' at the end of the book also gave MUCH insight into the THINKING of some of the English vs. Irish and their Mindsets! Another gem uncovered! Thanks for keeping this book alive.
